Event Description:
Kid Fest for Global Peace and Harmony
Purpose: To engage children in a joyful expression of peace and harmony for all people around the world and to express that joy through music, dance, drama, art, poetry, yoga, meditation and song.

Activities:
Interactive art- Guided by our Living Wisdom School Art Specialist, children of all ages may engage in an art project that will culminate in a final large art piece on display.
Interactive drama – Guided by our Living Wisdom School drama teacher, kids will explore dramatic expression on the theme of global peace and have an opportunity to perform the piece as a group on stage.
Interactive music – Guided by our Living Wisdom school teachers, songs of peace will be taught to the children as well as chants and mantras for peace and harmony around the world. These will be expressed as a group or “kirtan” with short periods of meditation between songs. Suitable for adults and children.
Haiku poetry – Guided by a local poet, the students will learn the structure of Haiku and practice writing poetry that expresses thoughts and feelings about global peace, harmony, kindness, love and friendship. They will be invited to speak their poem on the stage.
Dance – Guided by a dance instructor from the Kaleidoscope dance company, the students will learn creative movement to express a peaceful and harmonious relationship with mankind. There will be an opportunity to perform the dance on stage.
Yoga – Guided by a Living Wisdom School certified yoga instructor, kids and adults may participate in a 30 minute Ananda Yoga routine.
