Annual Edmonds 5K Fun Run/Walk
What better way to start a day full of hot dogs, apple pie and ice cream than with a little exercise and the chance to run down the Edmonds Fourth of July Parade route? Sponsored by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, the Edmonds 4th of July 5K Fun Run/Walk winds through the heart of historic downtown Edmonds. Attracting over 500 runners, the 5K is the perfect athletic kickoff to a full day of “An Edmonds Kind of 4th” excitement.
 



Note:  BY SUBMITTING ENTRIES ONLINE YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH BELOW AND WILL SERVE AS A VALID SIGNATURE.

 
A SEPARATE FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND SIGNED FOR EACH PERSON PARTICIPATING IN THIS EVENT, AND SUCH SIGNATURE IS AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, CERTIFICATION AND AGREEMENT OF THE PARTICIPANT TO THE
FOLLOWING:   Participant grants to all entities or persons involved in this activity the right to create, use, reproduce and publish Participant’s name and likeness in any media.  Participant accepts sole responsibility to determine whether Participant’s medical and training status is appropriate for this activity.  In the event of accident or injury resulting in Participant being unable to immediately arrange or provide necessary medical attention, the Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is authorized but not required to cause medical service to be provided and any medical service provider is hereby authorized to provide personal identification and medical information on request. Celebrate the 4th of July by marching in the "An Edmonds Kind of Fourth" main parade.

Your support is instrumental in continuing our tradition of a July 4th family celebration. A voluntary donation in any amount will be gladly accepted.  The following fee are charged to participants and must be enclosed with the application:
  
•  All vehicles entered in the parade must pay a $25 entrance fee and also be decorated in a patriotic manner in keeping with the event.
•  $500 entry fee plus vehicle fee for any person running for political office - if election date is within 12 months of this event. This category will be limited to 10 entries.
•  $100 entry fee plus vehicle fees (limit 2) for commercial entries, businesses, corporations, or any entry displaying a commercial ad (even if the advertising display is on a vehicle in a non-commercial entry).
•  All sponsorship packages above $1,500 include from 3 to 5 motor vehicles as entries in the parade without the $25 - per-vehicle charge. Any additional vehicles are each subject to the $25 fee.
•  Applications to be in the parade will not be considered if fees from a previous year remain unpaid.
•  Units  which are not pre-registered are not authorized to participate in the event because of potential liability.
•  Unregistered entries in the event are not approved by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, do not qualify as participants in the event, are not covered by the Chamber insurance, and are not authorized to participate in the event because of potentially undocumented liabilities.

I HAVE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY. My online registration shall serve as my signature on this application and also signifies my agreement to indemnify and hold harmless the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, the Edmonds Chamber Foundation, An Edmonds Kind of Fourth & its staff, and the City of Edmonds from all claims, actions, damages, liability and expense in connection with loss of life, personal injury, and/or damages to property resulting from your participation in An Edmonds Kind of Fourth.     PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS
    1. The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to remove any entry from the parade that refuses to follow all instructions from the Parade Officials, Parade Committee or the City of Edmonds Police.
    2. No one may participate in any manner deemed to be unsafe by the Parade Officials.
    3. Floats must be fire-retardant, carry a regulation fire extinguisher and have restraints for all float personnel.  The driver must have a 180 degree field of vision and carry a valid driver’s license.  No smoking on or near a float at any time.
    4. Only entries that have paid a Commercial Entry Fee may carry or display a commercial message.
    5. No material (such as candy, literature, product samples, favors, etc.) may be thrown from vehicles or by walkers; this draws children into the street and into the path of vehicles.  Parade participants may walk along the parade route and hand such items directly to spectators.
    6. No water or other material spraying devices may be used by parade participants along the parade route.
    7. Parade participants may not jump off of and back onto a moving vehicle in the parade.
    8. Consumption of and/or possession of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances is forbidden.
    9. Units are expected to maintain a distance of two car lengths between each entry.
    10. Marching units, floats and vehicles must maintain forward movement.
    11. All animal entries must include their own clean-up crew.

    • Parade route is 9/10th of a mile long.
    • Height limit for any unit is 14 feet.
    • Length limit for any unit 40 feet total (vehicle and trailer/float)

The 19th annual Edmonds in Bloom Garden Tour will be held on Sunday July 20,  2014
 
This year’s tour features many of the most beautiful gardens in Edmonds and Woodway.  The 2013 Garden Tour has a full line-up of 6 beautiful gardens whose intimate charm and natural beauty speak to the attention lavished on these quiet sanctuaries.  From a tranquil Zen garden, to rare species of rhododendrons, and raised vegetable beds overflowing with produce – the gardens are an incredible representation of the diversity of gardening in our climate.   Come feast your eyes. You won’t be disappointed.
