Travel Tips for the Amazon Rainforest & Patagonia
We're hosting two seminars on Saturday, April 12th. Come to one or both! 10 AM: Travel Tips for the Amazon Rainforest Known as the "World's Lungs," the Amazon Rainforest is a destination in itself. The Amazon Rainforest basin spans Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Colombia - and you can learn about the different activities and wildlife viewing opportunities available in each region. Juergen Keller, the CEO of SouthAmerica.travel, will discuss logistics and share personal travel tips for making the most out of your trip to the Amazon. Ample time for Q&A at the end. 1 PM: Travel Tips for Patagonia Spanning the southern regions of Chile and Argentina, Patagonia is a haven for hikers, wildlife watchers, and those who appreciate the great outdoors. Learn about the best spots for hiking and wildlife viewing and tips for planning your next trip. Juergen Keller, the CEO of SouthAmerica.travel, will discuss logistics and share travel tips for making the most out of your trip to the Amazon. Ample time for Q&A at the end. We will have some of our travel consultants at the event, in case people want to talk about trip planning after the sessions. There will also be complimentary coffee, tea, and refreshments served. Chamber Luncheon: Dr. Jean Hernandez, President of Edmonds Community College
Topics: Facilities changes on campus, including International Student Services, and Enrollment growth plan
Jean was named President of Edmonds Community College in January 2011. With over 30 years of experience in higher education, her work has included Vice President of Instruction at South Seattle Community College, Executive Vice President of Student Learning at Cascadia Community College, and Dean at Shoreline Community College. She is involved in several professional memberships; American Association of Community Colleges (Commission On Economic and Workforce Development) and the Washington Association of Community and Technical Colleges, (Aerospace Presidents Committee, Corrections Education Committee, and Legislative & Public Information Committee). Her community service includes: College Spark Washington Board of Trustees, United Way of Snohomish County Board, Workforce Snohomish Board, Economic Alliance of Snohomish County Board, Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, and Lynnwood Rotary Club.
